Given the forecast, <strong>the program portion has been moved indoors to Christ Church Neighborhood House, Great Hall, at 20 North American St</strong> (between 2nd and 3rd Streets, north of Market Street). <strong>The Visitor’s Center lawn has been <em>cancelled</em></strong>. The Walk route will be from the Art Museum to Christ Church.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Armenian Genocide Walk for Justice will have first come first serve FREE bus transportation from two local Armenian churches to facilitate easier travel into the city.  The buses will shuttle participants to the city and back to the churches.  Please arrive at the church of your choice by <strong>11:00am</strong> on April 28th.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">The bus will make a drop off at the Art Museum, where the walk will start.  After the walk through the city and the rally at Independence Visitor&#8217;s Center is over, the buses will then pick you up at the Independence Visitor&#8217;s Center and head back to each of the churche<span style="color: #000000;">s.  The bus will arrive at the Art Museum by 12 noon to drop off all walkers.  For those of you who do not wish to walk, the bus will depart from the Art Museum at 12:30pm and take you to the Independence Hall Visitor&#8217;s Center lawn, which is where the program will take place at 2 PM.  After the program concludes, each bus will return to the church you were picked up from.  (Please be sure to watch for your respective church&#8217;s name listed on each bus to ensure you are boarding the right bus)</span></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Buses will also be available to shuttle anyone back to the Art Museum if they drove and parked their cars in that area.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">If you would like to reserve a seat on a bus, from one of the two churches to the city, please call the follow contacts to add your name to the sign up list.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">On Saturday, April 28, 2012, for the fifth consecutive year, the Philadelphia Armenian Genocide Walk will take place, providing an opportunity for the entire Philadelphia community to gather to commemorate the 97th anniversary of the Genocide, and educate the public on Turkish denial of the atrocities committed against the Armenians by the Ottoman Empire from 1915 to 1918.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.armeniangenocidewalk.com/register/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-310" title="Reg Button Small" src="http://www.armeniangenocidewalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Reg-Button-Small.jpg" alt="" width="246" height="103" /></a><strong>Register Now by click on the Register Button</strong></p>
<p>Hundreds will gather at the Meher Statue by the Philadelphia Museum of Art and will walk through the streets of Philadelphia to rally and bring exposure to the cause. At the conclusion of the walk, a program will be held at the Great Hall of Christ Church Neighborhood House featuring keynote speaker renowned Turkish scholar, <strong><a href="http://www.clarku.edu/faculty/facultybio.cfm?id=722" target="_blank">Dr. Taner Akçam</a></strong>.</p>
<p>Dr. Akçam is a Turkish historian and professor who is considered one of the leading international experts on the Armenian Genocide. Autographed copies of Dr. Akçam&#8217;s new book, “The Young Turks&#8217; Crime Against Humanity: The Armenian Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing in the Ottoman Empire,” will be available for purchase at a discounted price the day of the event.</p>
<p>The program will also include performances by <strong><a href="http://www.jampaband.com/" target="_blank">Jampa Band</a></strong>, and closing remarks by Dr. Ara Chalian, ANC PA Chairman. We look forward to bringing our Philadelphia community together on April 28th to celebrate our strength and perseverance, and demand justice for acts of Genocide committed by any nation.</p>
